and painted a chair...
I call this colour 'spewmint'
And I made a mary. I'm a devout atheist
but I adore religious junk, like my pal Emma.
Some more of my religious junk...
And a bit more...
I think it might almost be time to paint the shack again. I'm a bit bored with the chartreuse. The spewmint looks so good with the pink...
What do you think?
Spewmint walls and a granny square roof?
With a Day of the Dead Doll's Head Garden?
And Tim Burton as my neighbour?
Yes please!
Sarah

Great works!!! I need the sun, the flowers and an entirely spewmint world right now!!I love your religious junk, I'm agnostic too, but I love the beauty of these icons and I pratically live surrounded by them, the most of Italians could think we are blasphemous! You are gorgeous in your overall and I love the spewmint manicure too!!
I love you more than Tim Burton!!!
xxxxxxxx
Hi, I love it all, its funny how your overalls, your painter overalls ?:), fits together with all the rest, even the religious junk in so many colors ! lol niels
Love all this colour, just beautiful!! I would love the colour on the walls. Gorgeous chair xx
Love your flower embellished religionalia and the spewmint chair which looks rather fab next to the pink. When I was little there was a house near me painted from top to bottom with multi-coloured stripes. Go for it! xx
I love all your religious junk and your granny squares! And the colour . Im soon ready with my bed spreed - granny Square style! Pjuh - a lot of work .
I love 'spewmint' paint too. And pink and chartreuse together. I think you might be my colour taste twin. Which is nice. Well for me, anyway.
You look like you are having such fun on your week off, doing nice decorative things. Your shack is the best.
I love all your religious iconography. I had a plastic Mary in my downstairs loo, but she was putting all the catholic gentlemen off their business, so she's moved. xxx
I love the 'spewmint' and pink combo.
What a cute chair! That picture from the side with the wee bit of your sunny yard and garden showing in the background is so very pretty.
When I was a kid I was the only one in the neighborhood with a bike that same color. I got teased because everybody else had red, blue, or brown bikes. But I looooved my spewmint 10 speed.
Great creations, I love religious art too.
can´t get engouh from you and your taste! xxx
Bless Emma im glad you shared your religious junk as you called it to which i have to say looks really pretty and colourful. Im loving your spewmint chair and the crochet cushion i also love your pink house and i would so love a garden and a view like that. I cant wait for sunny days again. dee xxx
The devil's here, he just drove by in his pick-up truck.
Bright colors and religious junk? Ya made my day!
Spewmint should be THE color for 2013! And I love your flowered religious doodads. I'm not big on religious crap, uh, things, but I like what you do to them.
Wouldn't it be great to have Tim Burton as a neighbor?!
Your artwork is fabulous!!! Spewmint--love it--such a wonderful color and it looks fab with the pink!!
And how cute are you looking all artisitstic in overalls and a bandanna scarf??
Love you with braids. You're looking so cute and busy. Like the granny square cushion too.
Chartreuse is a really gorgeous colour, but it's always funny and exciting to make and to have something new. So I would say: Give it a try! Yes to spewmint walls and I'm so very interested in that granny square roof.
Waiting for photos.
Miss Maple
it is cold and damp here in Ireland, it's lovely to be reminded of the sun. alovely sunny post.
I think that last bit about your house makes me want to move in, ah yes please! I do love spewmint why my bathroom is painted this color, it's soothing and still fun! You look nice and relaxed at your beautiful little shack and I adore all your religious tat!
XXOO
Love the new chair color. It goes well with the pink too. Nothing cheers up an old piece of furniture like a nice vibrant color.
I love it. Spewmint n'pink...lush. Love your religious junk too. I've picked up another Jesus today. He has one arm.
You look beautiful and I could snog ya.
xxxxxxxxxxx
I love your spewmint chair and it looks great with pink. Random thought… when I was little my parents had a friend who would say "punk" instead of "pink"… it still annoys me today! ;)
Pantone have got it all arse about face with their Emerald - the colour of 2013 should clearly be Spewmint.
It DOES look pretty with the pink, but I am still very fond of the chartreuse. But a granny square roof and dolls' head garden sound delightful! If Tim moved in next door, you could have tea in the dolls' head garden with Helena, and listen to her bitch about how he leaves wet towels on the floor and the loo seat up.
You look adorably Waltonesque in your dungarees and plaits. And the pimped up Jesus and his two mamas look heavenly! You'll burn in eternal hell for it, obvs - if you lose, the Devil gets your soul.
LOVE! xxxxxx
NIce spewmint chair... It does look good with the pink! Nice religious junk!
Becky :)
Spewmint does look delightful with pink.
Invite some of your mates over and have a house painting party :)
Your religious junk looks fantastic and I don't think you'll burn in hell at all.
Clearly the almighty creator who according to millions of faithful believers is responsible for making all the weird, wonderful and wacky stuff in the world, would totally get off on such blinding creativity!
In fact I reckon when your time comes, he'll probably invite you to become his heavenly house painter...xXx
Love these pictures of you with your lovely braids. That spewmint chair is divine.
I must say you have excellent taste... I chose the same colour for my kitchen last summer! Yet to be done as we have to RIP out the hideous cabinets and try to fit original 30s metal ones. But it will be done one of these days... Love all the colour on & around your shack! XXX
Love the chair color. You look so pretty in braids. (Obviously you always look pretty... But I really dig the braids on ya!)
It's spewmint bubblegum! I love that colour combination.
I too love religious iconography and a dream is to visit some of the world's grand cathedrals - not for the religion but for the experience of standing in that awesomeness of space and light and shadow and spookiness and history and the power that those places in controling people.
You look calm and beautiful.
I always love seeing pictures of your house Sarah - its everything I'd like my house to be! All bright colours and flowers - perhaps one day when we finally get a place of our own. Also - how is it possible that you look that adorable after painting a chair? If it was me there would be more paint on me than the chair;)
Shame on you, taunting the virgin with a rather phallic-looking chilli, how could you?
The spewmint chair is marvellous, but you already know I think that, don't you?
Thank you for injecting some colour, beauty and fabulousness in to my life.
Love you more than Jesus! xxxx
Love the color of the chair!
In DR and PR we paint our houses bright colors all the time. I grew up between in my mom's and grandma's house; one was turquoise and the other one was yellow and green.
I love religious art and how your added the silk flowers to it.
Your blog is so refreshing and colorful. And full of life! I love stopping by.
SPEWMINT is my most favourite colour name and one of my favourite colours... especially with pink. Years ago I had this theme park builder game and I made ALL my rides various SPEW colours and my favourite was SPEWMINT and pink and now... here it is in real life! So thank you!! THe chair is amazing. You look beautiful of course, love the plaits. The flowery catholic kitsch is just amazing. I love it all. Must make more myself... do you use a glue gun or superglue. Keep being a fucking rockstar and painting everything SPEWMINT xxxxxx
I like the chartreuse, but the pink and the spewmint go well together!
oh that chair is awesome, i love the color you picked out for it. you look so pretty in these pictures, a total knock out :)
xx
Anita
Most Definitely!! Love the spewmint - my bedroom walls at my old apartment were close to that colour and it does look gorgeous with the pink. I cannot imagine how freaking awesome it would be to have Tim and Helena living next door. I would keep finding excuses to go over and borrow cups of sugar...
You and the spewmint chair are more than fabulous. Was the plumber single? You didn't say.
Gorgeous colour, love the kitsch religious things and you in your relaxed look x
Fark YES to all of the above!!!
Spewmint just might be my new fave colour!!!
Religious kitschy iconography is right up my alley, but I have so little of it. That's a bit sad.
Yay for uber creativity!! Makes me wanna get donw on it!!!
Love you more than spewmint pie!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I agree: I totally dig the spewmint too. Sarah, have I ever told you that I am not a religious person, and I too SUPER LURV Mary with a great and vast horniness? Oh man, I'm always on the lookout for her at my second-hand stores.
I love religious kitschy (I learn from the best and notice that "religious kitschy" are the words that Helga use) and your your décor matches you great!
Spewmint walls would be amazing, go for it! You look like the cat's pyjamas, soooo cute in those dungarees with the plaits in your hair Sarah! Good bit of aethestic artistry too, love those crosses (in a non-believing in god kind of way)
Oh I have to say nooooo to losing the chartreuse shack, I love that colour. However if you prefer to call your house SPEW that is up to you. I love seeing you looking so happy & relaxed. Happy weekend :)
Spewmint! yes of course that is a nice color in french i would call it douce menthe, if you can figure that out!
lovely, lovely pics, My God you are so adorable and talented -
Awwwww summer please come back! i envy you right now, shitty, shitty weather here, snow, wind and more shit!

Oh my! I so need religious junk in my life and I want to paint the shed pink now too! lol xxx
I'm always blown away by how fabulous you look in overalls! I think Spewmint might just be my new favourite colour, and it does look sensational with pink!
I love spewmint and pink and if anyone could create a granny square roof it would be you. Love Mary of the flowers.
xx
love the pig tails w/ overalls look, you made it perfectly and all the virgin things are so fun.
