The Devil Wears Maxis

A few recent work outfits

The Devil's in the Detail
(I wore this the day my colleague won $46,000 on a horse race)

1950s deadstock yellow poppy dress - Fossil Vintage
1940s black picture hat - Circa Vintage Hats
Cardigan and belt - Op shopped
1960s enamel brooch - Vintage Fair
Shoes - Retail

Tie Me Up Tie Me Down
(Wore this to work and to Important Grown Up Meeting With Bank Manager)

Pants and sunnies - Op shopped
Shirt - Borrowed from Brother Misfit
1940s petit point handbag - Vintage Fair
Fly fishing silk tie - Gift from Melanie the Felony

Saxxxi to the Maxxxi
(Wore this to prove to myself that I could)
1970s maxi, cardigan, bangles, sunnies - Op shopped
Flower and shoes - Retail

Why have I had such a weird bee in my bonnet about wearing maxis to work? I don't know. Today I have totally broken down that barrier and now I'm probably gonna win some international award for maxis-at-work-professional-awesomeness.

Yes, yes I know I'm SO far behind on blogs (again) but I'll be over to yours to catch up SOON... I promise!

Wow, totally love your Melbourne Cup (i'm guessing) outfit. It's so delightfully cheerful and pretty and the hat is marvelarse, just like one mum had back in the day. I imagine your colleagues look forward to your brilliant outfits each day and why not a maxi ? I have to wear the most uninspiring uniform, still, it does save a lot of dithering time at 0410 when my alarm goes off!

Okay so you are a bit behind but you came back with three outfits. I salute you! I've been so lazy with taking pictures I might have to post my instagram photos. LAME? Yes. Very.

Ps. I want that 1940s petit point handbag. So fab. So so fab!

Your gorgeous yellow flowered frock brought your co-worker luck!! LOVE it!1
Love the corporate raider look too!
but my favorite is you in all of your maxi glory!! You definitely win the crown!!
I got over wearing maxi's to work this summer. Hell, some of the (mostly) guys I work with can barely button their shirt properly so I could care less what they think!!

3 awesome outfits. Who says dressing for work has to be dull, not you. Pretty cool how the cardi and flower pin match the flowers on the maxi.

You were really leaving your co-workers in your style dust this week - what gorgeous outfits! Good on you for breakng down the maxi-at-work barrier. I have a couple of long skirts I've thought about wearing to work, but haven't got brave enough yet. Definitely can't do it when winter sets in because of all the salt and slush.

Lusting after that yellow flowered frock.

I wore a tie this week too! But a bow tie.

I wear maxis to work on occasion, but never when my boss comes from corporate. Then I revert to a cowardly corporate dress code.

I love that yellow frock and I also have some personal weirdness about wearing a maxi to work! I don't know why:P It's not like I'm a black suit, white shirt kind of girl!

Oh! You are very hot in your "Tie me up tie me down-outfit"!

You look fanfrickintastic in every photo!! But the high waited pin stripe pants take the GOLD medal. Have a fun weekend Sarah!!

That first outfit is CLASSIC, everything is perfect, even the foliage on your arm. It's like Good Marla, the inside-out sandwich.

The second one, well I am partial to fisherwomen and pinstriped palazzo pants paired with petitpoint bags and men's shirts. Getting down to serious femme fatale business.

And the grand finale - the award-worthy maxi. The flower is a carnival on ice! I hope your heels clicked and your bangles jangled in this gorgeous affair. Love this three-fer post!!!

The maxi is just wonderful and I bet you're the envy of the office, I bet they're all jealous cos you're such a goddess. Love the 50s dress too - yellow looks hawt with your hair xxx

Woo hoo, three fabularse outfits! I don't have to choose a favourite, do I? Don't make me choose...
Glorious hat to set of those cheery poppies, you do look like you should be off to the races. Then we have Annie Lennox circa 1982, beautifully androgynous and sexy.
And finally that fabulous print, a maxi at work, a fuck-off flower, and emerald eye shadow. All super duper scrumptious!
That's enough about you. Come and see ME. I'm scrumptious too! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The yellow frock is my favourite only because it's what you were wearing when we Skyped last!
I still can't get over your colleague's mega win.
Love the pants and Melanie's tie, you definitely mean business in that gloriarse number and thank goodness you've seen the error of your ways and worn a maxi to the office, what were you thinking?
You're behind? I've just logged into Bloglovin' and there 42 blogs I've missed! Argghhh! I'll need a drink at this rate!
Love you more than kipper ties xxxx

Oh that poppy dress is divine! Also, how adorable is that pin? I love the lady bug!

So much love for all of these outfits! My fave has got to be the epic pants & tie outfit though - the frocks are stunning, but it takes a special kind of chutzpah to look incredible in a fly-fishing tie!

Hello beautiful, making flying visit to all my favourite ladies while my laptop is working again briefly and I've discovered that I can't currently see any of your photos on your posts! Have been reading on my phone though so will say that I WAS in LOVE with your hair on your jumpsuit post. Please send me some good laptop karma, am fading away here!
