Planning Schmanning

So now that I am working in Canberra full time and travelling back to my beach shack on the weekends, I have to plan my outfits for the following week. Plan.

 I don't like it.

I'm more of a Try On Ten Dresses and Twenty Different Accessories And Leave A Mountain
Of Stuff On The Bed kind of dresser.

And so today, instead of packing the car and planning my outfits for the week, I went for a romp in the bush and took photos of trees and birds, cobwebs and flowers, insects and clouds...

Sometimes you just have to do that.

So I threw together some outfits at the last minute and crammed them in the car and drove back across the valley in time to watch the sun set over the mountains.

I wore:
1970s gingham shirt, hat, braces and bracelets - Op shopped
Bespoke jeans made from 1940s pattern - Handmade by Sweetpea Sam
Rose brooch - Handmade by my awesome hot glue gun
1950s Kodak Brownie - Gift from darling Ada (she has a black eye!)
 Red Chucks - Retail

Chronic Bitchface says 'I don't care how sunny it is,
how much you love your new job or how happy you are,
you will look fucking miserable, sucker.'

I know what yo mean...I'm pants at planning outfits ahead. I'm gonna have to get back into the swing of it for the start of work next week.
That's a seriously gorgeous outfit you have on there.

I didn't realise you were working in Canberra! It would be very hard to pack all that you need for the week in advance. I'm like you pick what I'm wearing last minute and leave a mess behind. You always look super sweet in gingham. xx

Dearest Sarah,
those are the best days...just strolling though a cool forest and snapping anything that takes your fancy. We're hoping to relocate to Sweden within the next year or so & I can't wait to have the great outdoors on my doorstep. My folks have a summer house out in the sticks and that is where I'm hoping to spend most of my spare time growing veggies and keeping bees.
You look so relaxed and radiant!
Lot's of love,
Jennie...x

Gorgeous gorgeous you!
Don't think I have EVER seen a girl look so cute in braces before! You've got a sort of cool'n'sassy Waltons vibe going on!

So - outfit planning for the week... Oh God, I would be so crap at that! Do you have to be Smart Sarah for work or is it free'n'easy? Then there are your out-in-the-evening outfits to consider (in case Keanu's in town!) I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
Hope it's going well, hope Ada's black eye gets better (what happened?) and lovely to see your wonderful CBF, hahaha! xxxxxxxxx

how far away from where you live is that, Sarah? Those are jeans made from a 1940's pattern?!? HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT???
Oh that is fun. That's how you make denim glamourous!

I LOVE THIS! The gingham, the jeans, the hat--it's perfect, and you look gorgeous! Those woods look so lovely; the sun shines in beautifully. The Kodak Brownie is such a fun touch! XO

I usually have an idea of what I'm going to wear a day in advance, mainly because I'm not a morning person and if I didn't lay everything out the night before I would be late for everything. I would find it difficult to plan a week in advance. This ensemble is particularly yummy. Who can resist red gingham and oversized flowers :) x

Planning? Planning is bad enough, but outfit planning is the WORST. I have to take everything. I want that too-small lurex cardigan with the hole in it whenever I go away (the one I've had 10 years and never worn). Not sure how Vix does it, but she seems to be the queen of packing clothes.
As long as you don't forget the right colour bra, you'll be fine. You always look unique and stylish anyway. Bitch face stops you looking annoyingly smug about it!

you look gorgeous! I love the jeans. I often have to plan ahead when staying at boyfriends, but get bored with my choices and buy stuff

Don't you just look beautiful in your denim and gingham??!! I am crap at planning outfits in advance, I'm a wake up and see what I feel like in the morning gal. I am sure anything you throw together would be great. ♥

LOL! I have the same hair and glasses as chronic bitchface (how she looks, not feels).

I adore the outfit you've chosen, here and a bush romp sound much more fun than packing for a whole week.

It would be impossible for me to dress like that. Just chuck your whole wardrobe in your car and dress from the boot. I organise my wardrobe a week ina dvance, but the weather always changes and so does my mood.

They are gorgeous photos. I commute overnight one day each week and I never feel as put together on the second day, so in some small way I understand the frustration.

Love the suspenders with the gingham.
