Australian Gothic

So I know I said that I wouldn't bore you with any more updates on my
house painting progress, but I have changed my mind, so prepare to be bored...

I have been painting every day for eight days now
- it's slow progress but today I achieved a small milestone and finished
the rolling of the walls (chartreuse) and the two external doors (pink).

Now to complete the eaves, door frames, window frames, gutters, fascia,
letterbox, outside lamp pole and a few more pots and planters...

I've been planting succulents in funny little places
and splashing the happy pink paint around a bit.

And things are starting to get pretty...

I was desperate for a break from painting, and going a little stir crazy so
I popped into a market in town today and found this groovy magazine rack...

And this gorgeous 1970s crocheted poncho was from my op shopping adventure
earlier in the week...

I hope I get the house finished before Helgastock2012 in 12 sleeps
(and I'll be away for five of those days!).

I hope you've all had a delightful weekend!

Slow and steady wins the race, Sarah! It's going to look FABULOUS when it's all prettied up, you have such a good eye for detail (well, two good eyes actually!)
Of course you need a little breather from painting, and it was worth it - that magazine rack is fantastic. The poncho has your name all over it and look how it goes so well with the paint work!
Keep it up, Painter Girl, you're nearly there! xxxxxxx

small milestone? getting the walls done is a HUGE achievement - and without getting green specks in your fringe too. the technicolour world is coming along brilliantly - and isn't that magazine rack perfectly in tune with it all! xx

Excellent painting work Sarah! The magazine rack is so cute, but the poncho is totally giving me flashbacks to when my Mom and I had matching rust coloured crocheted ponchos with pom poms on the ties.

Whats wrong with people that they put lovely things like that in a scrap pile!!!
BTW that magazine rack completely matches a bread box i got from a tip shop a while back...perhaps there were lots of products with that design on it?
